Police in Minnesota are on the scene of a reported mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church on the south side of Minneapolis.

The number of victims is currently unknown, Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin said on Wednesday. “There is an active shooter here in Minneapolis… [with] an unknown amount of victims at a church and school,” he said. “EMS has requested mass casualty. … If any of you are doctors or otherwise first responders that could help — it seems to be a fairly significant shooting.”

Governor Tim Walz wrote on X that he was aware of the incident, lamenting that the incident occurred just as children were back in class after summer break.
