COLUMBIA, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The South Carolina Education Lottery said the Powerball jackpot has been raised to $850 million ahead of Wednesday night’s drawing.

Officials said the advertised jackpot amount increased by $35 million since Monday and now ranks as the game’s sixth largest prize ever.

If won Wednesday, the jackpot winner can elect to take a one-time cash payment of $383 million or the entire jackpot paid out in 30 installments over 29 years, according to officials.

Lottery officials said that the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are about 1 in 293 million.
