Just more than a third of U.S. adults support President Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops to Washington, D.C., according to the latest Reuters/Ipsos survey.

In the survey, conducted last weekend, 38 percent of respondents said the National Guard should be deployed to Washington, while 46 percent said they should not be in the nation’s capital, and 16 percent didn't know.

There was a sharp divide in support by party, however.

The latest survey shows Republicans were largely supportive of the troop deployment, with 76 percent saying the Guard members should be deployed in the District and only 12 percent saying they should not be. Thirteen percent said they didn't know.
