(NewsNation) — Ford Motor Company is recalling roughly 103,000 F-150 pickups due to concerns that weakened rear axle hubs may result in the vehicle rolling away while parked or cause a loss of drive power, which can increase the risk of a crash.
Letters were sent to owners of certain 2023-2025 F-150s on Aug. 22, notifying them of the safety risk.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a recall notice that “the rear axle hub bolt may fatigue and break, which can result in damage to the axle hub splines.” A spokesperson for Ford told CBS News that the company is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this recall.
