Leicester’s household bin collections are to undergo significant changes. City mayor Sir Peter Soulsby has now signed off on a new approach to waste and recycling processes across the city .
The new rules will see weekly pick-ups for general rubbish and recycling reduced to collections every other week, and separate food collections will be brought in, Leicester City Council has said. Residents in most city homes will get multiple new bins for their rubbish to go in.
