Thanks to a big game from Giancarlo Stanton on Tuesday night, the Yankees took the second game of the series against the Nationals, setting up a chance for them to sweep cellar-dwelling Washington in a Wednesday afternoon matinee.

As the Yankees try to break out the brooms, they’ll send Max Fried to the mound. Last weekend against the Red Sox, Fried had his best start since his blister issues began to arise, as he threw six shutout innings versus Boston. Prior to that, he had an ERA over seven in his previous six starts, so hopefully he’s over whatever happened there and is back to looking like the All-Star he was prior to that.
