Major retailer Nordstrom will hold mass layoffs in Nevada later this year as it transitions its credit card program.

Nordstrom filed a WARN notice with the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation on Aug. 21. Named after the 1989 Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, a WARN notice requires companies to provide 60 days notice when enacting mass layoffs or plant closures.

The layoffs will affect 27 employees in Nevada and are expected to start on Nov. 15.

The layoffs will be limited to remote workers and does not include employees working at Nordstrom’s various brick-and-mortar operations in Las Vegas and Reno.
