Pennsylvania state parks will be open for Sunday hunting on only three of the 13 dates in 2025 approved by the Pennsylvania Game Commission .

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources on Tuesday announced what it’s calling a phased approach to expanded Sunday hunting. The rollout seeks to balance Pennsylvania’s rich hunting traditions with the recreational needs and safety of millions of visitors to public lands, DCNR officials said.

Game Commission officials last month opened up 13 consecutive Sundays for hunting in Pennsylvania, from Sept. 14 through Dec. 7. Gov. Josh Shapiro weeks earlier had signed legislation into law repealing the state’s longstanding ban on Sunday hunting .
