The Eagles have claimed rookie center Willie Lampkin off waivers from the Los Angeles Rams .
Lampkin, a five-year college starter for two different schools (Coastal Carolina and UNC), went undrafted this spring, but he deserved to be drafted based off his college tape. Many thought he would be selected on Day 3 and others believed he could have gone on Day 2 if he wasn’t so small (5-11, 290 pounds).
But his measurables caused him to slide out of the draft.
The Eagles usually go after backup offensive linemen who have great physical traits, which Lampkin does not have. But Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland could have loved Lampkin as a prospect and is willing to overlook his unimpressive physical tools.
