Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s lawyer on Wednesday said the Salvadoran national is seeking asylum in the U.S. after being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials. A U.S. District judge banned Abrego Garcia’s removal and scheduled an October court hearing.
