UPDATE: The person who killed two children, injured 17 others, and died by a self-inflicted gunshot wound has been identified.

Law enforcement said the gunman was 23-year-old Robin Westman, who grew up in Richfield, Minnesota. NBC affiliate KARE 11 also reports that Westman's mother worked at Annunciation School in some capacity.

The shooter legally changed his name from Robert to Robin in 2020, according to court documents.
