At Monday’s council meeting, one day shy of the fourth anniversary of the Aug. 26, 2021 gas explosion, it was revealed the lawsuit was dropped.

However, Chatham-Kent’s insurance company is seeking to recover its legal costs, which the municipality wants to make clear is not its decision or choice to pursue.
