PEQUOT LAKES — The Pequot Lakes Patriots are coming off one of their best seasons in program history after finishing 11-1 and reaching the Class 3A state semifinals at U.S. Bank Stadium.
“We graduated a strong senior class of 25 players,” said head coach Bill Magnuson, whose squad is scheduled to open the season by hosting rival Esko at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28. “Our 2025 team, led by a class of 16 seniors, hopes to return to the section finals and have a chance to return to state.
“They will be relying on help from 30 juniors and a talented sophomore class. Our junior varsity team went 5-1 overall last year, and they also participated in many varsity games because of our success," Magnuson said.
