UPDATE: It was a 5-4 decision to strike down Councilman Chip Henderson's property tax plan. That means four councilmembers were unhappy with the decision.
District 4's Councilman Cody Harvey was one of those who were unhappy with the decision.
Harvey gave this statement on the vote:
“On Tuesday night, I voted against Mayor Kelly’s proposal to raise your taxes,” stated Councilman Harvey, “I listened to the people of District Four. There were an overwhelming number of calls, emails, and messages received urging me to vote against Mayor Kelly’s proposal, though to do what was necessary for Fire and Police pay in our city.
