SPRINGVILLE, N.Y. — The New York State Department of Transportation is reminding drivers about a major construction project on the State Route 219 Expressway.

From Tuesday, Sept. 2 until Friday, Oct. 31, Route 219 will be closed to traffic between State Route 39 in the Village of Springville and the terminus of the expressway at Peters Road in the Town of Ashford in Cattaraugus County as the Department of Transportation builds a new roundabout.

Drivers will be directed to the "Old Route 219," using State Route 39 and Cascade Drive/Cascade Road/Miller Road before reconnecting with Route 219 at the Peters Road intersection in Ashford.

A press release previously sent to 2 On Your Side incorrectly listed Sep. 9 as the start date for the construction project.
