Two off-duty police officers, including one who was in the middle of running a 5K race, intervened this weekend when a man attacked a woman near the Atlantic City Boardwalk , authorities said.

One of the police officers ended up in a fight with the man, according to video shot by bystanders that was posted on social media. Another off-duty officer who stopped to help brandished his service weapon, according to police.

Xontae Glass, 27, is accused of attacking the woman on the beach on Sunday morning, then threatening Atlantic City Police Lt. James Herbert with a knife, city police said.

Court records don’t list an attorney for Glass. But, 6ABC in Philadelphia interviewed his wife, who said she was the woman he allegedly attacked.
