A famous Banksy artwork has been moved. The famous Piranhas piece is now in protective storage before it goes on display at the London Museum.
The artwork which depicts fish spray-painted on a police sentry box, made headlines last summer when it popped up as part of the street artist’s animal-themed London collection , which culminated with a gorilla appearing to lift up a shutter at the front of London Zoo .
For now the Piranhas piece is now in the care of London Museum and will be kept in secure storage before it becomes accessible to the public as part of a permanent display at the museum’s Smithfield spot, which opens next year. Before it was painted to look like a fish tank, the sentry box had stood in Ludgate Hill since the 1990s.
