PINE RIVER — The Pine River-Backus football team has one of its largest number of seniors in recent years as the Tigers look to bounce back from a winless season last fall.
“With the biggest senior class in recent years, we’re looking to rebound after a disappointing 2024 season,” said head coach Nate Fischer, whose team is scheduled to open at home against Red Lake at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28. “With a new district schedule, I expect us to get back to being a competitive team on a weekly basis.”
Returning letterwinners are Shaunn Reyes, Owen Dabill, Koal Oberfell, Andrew Volk and Brody Mongan.
