SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) - Strong storms will develop over the northern quarter of the ArkLaTex late Thursday afternoon and will slowly spread south Thursday night into Friday. A few isolated severe storms will be possible.

Severe weather worries: The latest outlook from the Storm Prediction Center indicates that we will have a marginal severe weather risk for the northern part of the area on Thursday into Thursday night. The main concern will likely be damaging winds. Most storms will have the capability of producing gusts to 40 mph. A few isolated storms could produce gusts up to 60 mph.

Some large hail will also be possible. Most models, including Futurecast, show that threat to be rather low. Tornadoes are very unlikely. The overall severe risk level is one on a scale of five.
