Former Aston Villa striker Danny Ings has joined Sheffield United on a one-year deal.

Ings was a free agent after leaving Premier League West Ham at the end of last season and has put pen to paper on a deal with the Championship club, with an option to extend his stay beyond a single season.

It means he is reunited with Villa’s Louie Barry, who is on loan with the Blades for the season from Villa Park.

"I am delighted. It has been a busy few days. When I spoke to the manager and he asked me to come up and spend some time with him and the group, I just thought it was a great opportunity. To be sat here now speaking to you, and the Sheffield United fans, is just fantastic,” said Ings.
