TAYLORVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - A Taylorville man charged with sexually abusing a person with disabilities has been sentenced to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

According to Christian County court records , 66-year-old James Eiskant of Taylorville pleaded guilty Tuesday to the charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Additionally, Eiskant's sentence in the IDOC will be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release, which will be served at the rate of 50% for 769 days already served.

During a July 2023 incident , a woman contacted the Taylorville Police Department about speaking with her 19-year-old grandson, who has a severe intellectual disability.
