SELINSGROVE — A proposal to convert the former Snyder County jail into an emergency responder training facility was the topic of a recent meeting among federal, state, county and local nonprofit officials.

The Aug. 12 Zoom meeting was coordinated by state Sen. Lynda Schlegel Culver, who is interested in the idea of using the property on Old Colony Road outside Selinsgrove as a training facility after watching about 100 first responders engage in active shooter training at the closed jail in April.
