Battle Creek Police to conduct explosives response training today

The Battle Creek Police Department will conduct explosives response training this afternoon, Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the West River Road training range, near the city’s wastewater treatment plant. The training focuses on how officers respond to bomb threats and suspicious packages, according to the police department. Residents may hear three to four loud booms in the area around 4 p.m. These sounds are part of controlled training and are not a cause for concern.
