BEREA — Add another one to the pile. This time, it's a familiar face .

The Browns are signing quarterback Bailey Zappe to the practice squad, a source confirmed for the Beacon Journal. The 26-year-old spent training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs, but was released ahead of the Aug. 26 roster cutdown deadline.

Zappe gives the Browns four healthy quarterbacks between the active roster and practice squad. Opening-day starter Joe Flacco, as well as rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders, are on the 53-man roster.

Assistant general manager/Vice President of Player Personnel Glenn Cook had been asked almost immediate before the Zappe signing about the possibility of adding a veteran quarterback to the practice squad.
