Pueblo has been hammered with 2.43 inches of rain so far this month and with five possible rainy days left in August, it could climb even higher.
According to National Weather Service Meteorologist Kathy Torgerson, 2 inches of rain fell in the four days between Aug. 23 and Aug. 26, the heaviest amount coming on Aug. 24 when .91 inches fell.
"Normal precipitation for August is 1.88 inches, so we are already .55 of an inch above that and we've got a few more days that call for rain," she said.
On Aug. 28 and Aug. 29, Pueblo has good chances for rain. By Saturday, Aug. 30, the area is expected to start to dry out, but will "still under the gun for thunderstorms in the afternoon," Togerson said.
"Sunday, Aug. 31, may bring light rain, but then it dries out a little bit," she explained.
