What should've been a comfortable midweek win for the Red Devils turned into a nightmare. Despite turning around a 2-0 deficit just before the 90-minute mark, United fell 12-11 in penalties after new big signing Bryan Mbeumo hit the crossbar on his attempt.

The Red Devils featured in the cup this early due to finishing 15th in the league last season, but now suffer their latest embarrassment during their downward spiral.
