BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WSAV) — Two sister cities, both in northern Beaufort County, are eyeing a multimillion-dollar Veterans facility planned for the Lowcountry. Both have said they want it, but it’s not been decided on who exactly will get to claim it.
The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) is set on bringing in a $30 million state of the art veteran outpatient clinic to northern Beaufort County.
They’ve proposed 3 different locations. Two sites listed are within the Town of Port Royal’s limits, and the other falls under the City of Beaufort.
The City of Beaufort and the Town of Port Royal both have property locations up for grabs.
The town and city, who consider each other ‘sister cities’ have both said they’re not in competition.
