NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The first phase of a massive water project in West Nashville is nearly done.

Metro Councilmember Brenda Gadd said it'll enhance the quality of life for people districtwide.

It's a project that's been a long time coming: a new water storage tank located between 37th and 38th Avenue North will replace the one that's been there since the 1940s.

Sandwiched between Charlotte Avenue and Interstate 40, the new tank will come at a total cost of $2.5 million.

The project also includes other neighborhood enhancements, including new water mains, stormwater infrastructure, a fire hydrant and site improvements like sidewalks and fencing.
