A former special education aide at the Altoona Area School District is facing charges after police say he exposed students to sexually explicit material.

Travis Barnhill, 24, of Altoona, is charged with three felony counts of dissemination of explicit sexual material to a minor, three felony counts of unlawful contact with a minor and three misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors.

According to WTAJ , Altoona police said they began their investigation on Feb. 27 after learning about an incident at a bowling alley on Feb. 13.

Barnhill was on a field trip with students at the bowling alley when he showed them nude photos of a woman, police said.

Police later met with Barnhill and confiscated his cell phone after obtaining a search warrant. Police said Barnhill admitted to showing the
