Mike Willis is a firm believer that there should be improvement in all that you do for a second time.

It was a challenging first season for the rookie head coach and his Marist University football team in 2024 – the Red Foxes dropped their first nine contests and finished 1-10.

There was a lot of learning, and a lot of work to do over the offseason, and the long-time Princeton assistant believes Marist is on course for a rebound.

“Any time you are in year two of anything, you feel like you are iterating instead of creating,’’ Willis said. “There is a little bit more comfort from the players’ perspective, particularly returning players – there have a compounding effect on the way they mentor the newcomers because they understand it better.
