Fort Smith utilities director: Water line construction, treatment plant upgrades could cost more than half a billion dollars

FORT SMITH -- An upgrade to the Lake Fort Smith Water Treatment Plant and the completion of a 48-inch water line from the reservoir to the city will cost an estimated $328 million-$585 million when all is said and done, according Fort Smith Water Utilities Director Lance McAvoy.
