The Seattle Seahawks have made a change to their secondary.

Having claimed former Los Angeles Rams cornerback Derion Kendrick off waivers, the Seahawks needed to make a corresponding move to get Kendrick on the roster. Seattle’s decision was to release Shaquill Griffin, who was brought back earlier this summer as a veteran option at the position.

Griffin missed a fair chunk of training camp and the preseason opener against the Las Vegas Raiders due to a personal matter. After having somewhat of a career revival with the Minnesota Vikings last season, Griffin signed a one-year contract worth up to $4 million, with $1.75 million guaranteed between signing bonus and salary.
