MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia will not play a game in 2025 as a bigger favorite than Saturday against Robert Morris in the 2 p.m. season opener from Milan Puskar Stadium.

The Mountaineers’ matchup with the FCS squad has a point spread of 38.5 as the home team seeks to remain unbeaten against FCS competition in what will be its 23rd matchup with a team from that level.

Much of the focus is on Rich Rodriguez starting his second tenure as head coach and 79 new players added to the WVU roster from a season ago. As a result, there are plenty of unknowns pertaining to starters, playing time and what the Mountaineers’ strengths and weaknesses will be, something that could take several contests to sort out.
