GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - An outpouring of grief is coming in from the catholic community in Greenville following the deadly Minneapolis Catholic school shooting.
Officials say an eight-year-old and a 10-year-old are dead, and multiple people are injured after a gunman, later identified as 23-year-old Robin Westman, who FBI Director Kash Patel sad was a male born under a different first name, approached the outside of Annunciation Catholic School during a mass worship service on Wednesday, and began firing a rifle through the church window.
“There’s no words, it’s just gut-wrenching,” Catholic parent Kimberly Lukhard said.
Growing up, Duncan Lukhard attended Saint Peter Catholic School in Greenville and says he remembers having to do school lockdowns following the Sandy Hook shooting.
