More wide receiver trades are occurring around the NFL, but the Pittsburgh Steelers have been unable to find the right deal for them.
The Detroit Lions have traded wide receiver Tim Patrick to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a sixth-round pick. Meanwhile, Adam Thielen is heading to the Minnesota Vikings for late-round pick swaps.
Both players could have been on the Steelers’ radar as outside wide receivers. As it stands, the team is after Marquez Valades-Scantling, who played with Aaron Rodgers for four seasons with the Green Bay Packers.
Valdes-Scantling, 30, played for two teams last season, the Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints. Across both teams, he had 19 catches for 411 yards and four touchdowns. A big play threat, Valdes-Scantling averaged 21.6 yards per reception.
