Municipalities think they have a possible compromise as Gov. Ned Lamont continues to talk with fellow Democrats about a housing bill.

Lamont met with some Democratic leaders at the capitol Wednesday, roughly two months after he vetoed a massive housing bill.

Earlier in the week, he voiced his intrigue in a regional approach.

“All the towns in that COG (Council of Government) could work together, set the parameters for how they get more housing in that region,” he said. “I thought it was something worth discussing.”

It’s an idea that would see COGs come up plans that include goals for each member town. It’s also a plan that was met with skepticism by at least one Democratic leader ahead of Wednesday’s meeting.
