On Monday, Aug. 25, at approximately 9:20 a.m., RCMP along with the Penticton Fire Department attended a report of a fire start in a green belt near Ridgedale Ave. and Penticton Ave.

Upon arrival, the fire department safely extinguished the fire.

RCMP arrested a man near the scene, believed to be associated. The fire is believed to have been human caused and suspicious.

No one was reportedly injured, nor significant property damage.

RCMP thank Penticton bylaw and the fire department.

The investigation remains open.
