RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The State of Nevada finds itself in the crosshairs of a cyberattack .

The state identified a network security incident and immediately engaged in 24/7 recovery efforts on Sunday Morning.

“This is our state government that we pay taxpayer money to. We always assume it is safe, but state entities are a primary target,” said Tim Miles, Sierra Miles Group . “The hackers can get into a system and will destroy the back-ups first and then destroy the live data. I don’t know how the state is set up, but there is going to be a lot of work.”
