TOMPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) -On Wednesday, 4th graders from across Monroe County gathered to learn more about the local farms that surround them, as well as the work that farmers do to provide food from farm to table.

" We’ve all heard the stories that chocolate milk comes from brown cows; well, we know that’s not so, and things come from Walmart. Well, most of them come from a farm,” said KY Farm Bureau president Eddie Melton. “It’s good that these young people get to spend a day out here.”

Education has been a long-standing element of Hade’s Triple K Farm. Loretta Lyons, the matriarch of the farm, was a teacher for several years before leaving the profession to farm along with her sons.
