California State University, Los Angeles is one of 12 universities nationwide selected for the “Battery Workforce Challenge,” a joint project sponsored by the United States Department of Energy and Stellantis, the multinational car brand company, and managed by Argonne National Laboratory.

On Wednesday, the student engineering team — nicknamed the “Charging Eagles” after the state university’s “Golden Eagles” mascot — demonstrated its student-designed electric vehicle battery pack for use in a Ram ProMaster electric vehicle.
