ENGLEWOOD — Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims left practice Wednesday to be evaluated for a groin injury.
Denver is not “overly concerned” about his health status, coach Sean Payton told pool reporter Jeff Legwold. Payton did not address the full media group following practice at Broncos Park.
Mims is a key piece of Denver’s receiving corps and special teams.
He was selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his first two NFL seasons as a return specialist. Mims was also named first-team All-Pro last year as a punt returner. Offensively, he’s logged 61 catches for 880 yards and seven touchdowns over two seasons in Denver.
