PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A Cantonment man has been sentenced to prison time on a drug charge, according to the Department of Justice.

The DOJ news release said Bennie Charles Deloach, 36, was sentenced to 14 years in prison on a charge of possession with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine or 500 grams or more of a mixture and substance containing methamphetamine.

Officials said Deloach ran from Pensacola Police Department officers when they tried to pull him over for having active felony warrants.

The vehicle chase eventually ended with Deloach hitting a pole and a parked vehicle before getting out and running.

According to the release, officers found a large amount of meth, 830 grams, in a backpack Deloach dropped, and more drugs inside the vehicle.
