MASON CITY, Iowa — Firefighters in Mason City are gearing up for the annual Fill the Boot fundraiser, aiming to surpass last year's collection of over $14,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

This event coincides with MDA’s 75th anniversary and marks 71 years of support from firefighters across the nation. From August 29 to the evening of September 1, members of the Mason City Professional Firefighters Local 41 will be stationed at key locations, including the intersection of Monroe Avenue and 1st Street NW, and areas near Fleet Farm and Menards.
