(KRON) -- Several stolen Christian McCaffrey San Francisco 49ers jerseys were recovered by Petaluma police officers when they arrested a Vallejo man — and suspected longtime thief — who allegedly just targeted a Petaluma sporting goods store.

Petaluma PD said "officers spotted several San Francisco 49ers jerseys in plain view inside the vehicle with security devices attached" when Michael Calapati, 44, was pulled over during a traffic stop on Aug. 23.

Investigators confirmed the stolen haul of the star running back's jerseys came from a local DICK'S Sporting Goods who just reported a theft. The approximate value of the recovered merchandise was not disclosed.

A further search of Calapati's vehicle upturned a "scale and several individually packaged baggies of suspected methamphetamine,"
