HIGH POINT, N.C. -- High Point had more runs than Charleston had hits on Wednesday.
That more or less summarized the Rockers’ 5-0 win in Atlantic League action at Truist Point.
High Point’s Ben Wereski and Gabe Klobosits limited the Dirty Birds (18-26 second half, 48-59 overall) to four hits.
Wereski fanned eight Charleston hitters in six shutout frames, yielding three hits and one walk. Klobosits gave up one hit in three innings of work, with two walks and four punchouts.
Despite being saddled with the loss, Dirty Birds starter Jamison Hill was sterling in his own right, striking out 11 Rockers and walking none. He allowed three earned runs on five hits in six innings.
Zach Daniels had two hits for Charleston.
Evan Edwards and Aidan Brewer produced two hits apiece for High Point (24
