A woman was sitting on the front porch of a home in North Philadelphia when she was shot several times, according to a spokesperson with the police department.

The shooting happened on the 2100 block of North 23rd Street sometime after 9 p.m., police said.

The woman, in her mid-30s, was shot in her chest and back and was sitting on the front porch with other people when the shooting happened, officials said.

At least 12 rounds were fired at the group from at least one gunman, according to officials.
