QUAY COUNTY, N.M. (KAMR/KCIT) — Officials with the Quay County Sheriff's Office ask that residents avoid the area while police are actively investigating in the area. The area to avoid is located between 2nd and Monroe and Main and Aber.

Officials said police activity is happening in the area, and dispatch had been evacuated from the Tucumcari Quay Regional Emergency Communications Center. 911 calls will be forwarded to the New Mexico State Police.

Residents can call 575-403-6635 while dispatch is out of service.
