A Waco nonprofit organization working to provide a safe space to the area's homeless teen population is getting some help to do just that. Last week, the Waco Foundation chose The Cove as the recipient of its annual Forever Fund grant as a thank you for nearly 10 years of service to the community.

"It really encourages me and says 'okay, people are seeing what we're doing and recognizing the work we're trying to do,'" The Cove Executive Director Tim Packer said.

The Cove provides resources to help teens navigating homelessness thrive.

"We're an outreach service, so we're on school campuses out in the community meeting 1 to 1 with youth who are needing assistance, whether that's accessing hygiene items, whether it's again, shelter, laundry, getting their ID, all kinds of things," Packer
