NEWINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — After seven people were arrested by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement from a Newington car wash over the weekend, state and local leaders joined members of the community for an emotional rally Wednesday.
ICE agents detained five men and two women at the car wash on Main Street. Congressman Jon Larson (D-CT 1) compared the tactics of ICE agents to those of Nazi Germany.
"This is a time for good trouble. This is a time for Americans to rise up,” Larson said. "This is not Germany. That is the SS and the Gestapo, this is the United States of America. Unmask yourselves."
