SALT LAKE CITY – Utah is officially launching a new institute meant to improve collaboration and innovation in the state, called The Nucleus Institute. On Wednesday, Utah’s governor helped kick it off.

“Nucleus is all about taking this present situation which we find ourselves in and making the most of it,” Gov. Spencer Cox said.

The Nucleus Institute is a product of Utah making the commitment to deeper collaboration between Utah’s colleges and universities, state government, and the commercial industry to help fast-track ideas. For example, entrepreneurial ideas from college students that could solve high-tech problems.

As leaders explained Wednesday in the official launch of Nucleus, each of those ideas needs better support and financial investment to make them a reality.
